Our Story
Our Story
For over 140 years, Immanuel Lutheran Church and School continues to share the love of Jesus Christ. From a few students in the day school in 1868, the ministry here in Honey Creek (rural Jefferson City) expanded. The congregation formed in 1870 with a log cabin church built soon afterwards. Today, the congregation is blessed with over 600 congregational members and has a growing school population of over 120 students (PK-8).
Currently, the sanctuary (built in the mid 1990’s) holds over 350 people who praise God weekly and are fed with His Word and Sacraments. Also, the stone building constructed in 1924, that housed the school faithfully all these years, is being enhanced with the current construction of 21,000 square feet additional space.
As you can see, we are a growing congregation, not only in numbers, but also in our life of faith. Check us out and let us share the message of Jesus’ love with you!
